Hook Up Your Getup!
Saturday, November 10th, 2012We all have that friend who always looks great. She puts things together that always look perfect and unique. How does she do it? Some girls just have the knack. It comes naturally. Unfortunately, some of us don’t.
We can certainly try to come up with something on our own…
Let’s see…We could go to the mall and look at the mannequins- see what everyone else is wearing. It seems like all of the stores have the same thing. What’s up with that? I don’t want to dress like everyone else out there! Do you?
Then there are the fashion magazines. Really? Who dresses like that? When was the last time you saw someone wear silky printed wide leg pajama pants with platform shoes and a blazer? (Seriously- I just saw it in Lucky Magazine) And Lucky Magazine is supposed to be geared more for real life that most other fashion mags! (Don’t get me wrong-I LOVE Lucky magazine, but sometimes…)
Or you could get tips from television. Hmmm…Snooky, Chrisina Aguilera, Kim Kardashian…I couldn’t pull any of that off, not that I would even want to! And don’t get me started on the “fashion” shows like Project Runway and The Fashion Show. We can’t really wear any of that stuff. We would look silly here in Baltimore.
We need real clothes for real life. And we want it to be easy. And look good.
HELP!
So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to come up with some looks on this blog. I’m going to show you how to put the components together to make them look good. I’m going to do this on a regular basis, so keep checking back.
I’ll take ideas of outfits from Pinterest or something and show you how to put them together with clothing from the Fashion Attic. And the best part is that these outfits are less than 0!
Here goes. Here is one photo from Pinterest. I will show you two ways to work it.
A simple yet cute combination of skirt and sweater. Sweater is tucked in and skirt is belted. You can accessorize this in lots of ways. Scarves, or a statement necklace, depending on the day. You could wear boots or flats, whichever you choose.
Here are some pieces that I pulled from the Fashion Attic. We have an H&M skirt, a Nantucket Brand cashmere sweater, a pair of vintage Bass Weejuns loafers, a Lauren belt, and a Coldwater Creek suede cross-body bag.
Here is the finished product on a form: Entire outfit costs only !
Here is one more example of the same idea:
And the finished product again…All of this for just !
So there are a couple of ideas of how to rock this seasons’ styles. If you happen to see something that you like, give us a call and we can hold it for you.
If you need some help with your style, come on in and let us give you a hand.
